The Governing Body approves agreement between RDA and NADRA for biometric verification services

In a positive development published in the form of a public notice on the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) website in November, the RDA has approved a contract with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for biometric verification services, ensuring lawful and transparent property transfers. Commissioner Liaqat Ali Chatha highlighted the significance of this step in boosting confidence in real estate transactions.

Additionally, the Governing Body endorsed an agreement with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) for the implementation of the e-Filing and Office Automation System (EFOAS). This move aims to streamline daily tasks, promote a paperless office environment, and provide 24/7 digital accessibility to official correspondence.

Other approved measures include setting reserve prices for billboards and the RDA parking plaza, expected to increase revenue generation by 100%. The Governing Body’s decision to align with the CDA on jurisdiction boundaries for housing schemes and commercial buildings further reinforces positive developments in Rawalpindi’s real estate sector.

The notice also mentioned the approval for the refund of fees collected for under-process building plans which signals a commitment to facilitating property development. Director General Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa expressed appreciation for the members’ contributions, marking a significant leap towards a more transparent, efficient, and revenue-enhancing real estate environment in Rawalpindi.
