Rawalpindi Ring Road: A Swift Path to Completion

Excitement fills the air as the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project gains momentum, promising rapid completion. In a surprise late-night visit to the project site last week, caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Raza Naqvi underscored his commitment to delivering the project by September 2024.

Chief Minister Naqvi’s impromptu inspection of the RRR site marked his dedication to its timely completion. He directed the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to ensure high-quality development and expedite the project. Additional labor and an increased number of dumpers will accelerate land leveling, while the design consultant, NESPAK, has been tasked with speeding up planning.

The RRR’s first phase covers 38.8 kilometers with five interchanges, offering an alternate route for long-distance travelers between Islamabad and Rawalpindi, relieving intercity traffic.

Chief Minister Naqvi left no room for delay during his visit to the RRR project. He urged a swift conclusion, with additional workforce and faster earthwork, closely monitoring the project’s progress. With his resolute commitment, the Chief Minister Punjab is poised to ensure the Rawalpindi Ring Road’s timely completion, ushering in a new era of connectivity in the region.
